“Niamh of the Golden Voice! Her lovely ornamentation breathes new life into these beautiful songs.” – Andy Irvine

“One of the most beautiful and expressive voices in all of Ireland. Niamh Parsons has the ability to climb into a song, take ownership and then sing it for the listener to experience–not simply hear.”
– Cindy Reich, Music journalist for “Irish Music Magazine” (Dublin, Ireland), “The Living Tradition” (Ayrshire, Scotland), “The Celtic Connection” (Denver, Colorado)

“Subtle and expressive in delivery… one of those
singers who sounds totally wrapped up in the meaning and message of everything she performs. A songstress like her only comes along once or twice in a generation.
– Alastair Clark, The Scotsman

“…Her earthy vocals are shot through with a smoky undertow that captures the darker corners of her songbook. And that songbook has a few treasures lurking within. The Slave’s Lament, from a collection published in 1792 edited by Robbie Burns, is a sharp-sided account of slavery that would make a perfect companion piece to Randy Newman’s Sail Away.
It is rendered all the more affecting by Dunne’s inventive jazz-tinged arrangements.”
– ‘Kind Providence: Dark Gems’ Siobhan Long, Irish Times review
