Davóg Rynne & support Trish Nolan & Thomas McCarthy

Davóg Rynne was born into the Moore and Rynne musical/artistic family at the end of the 60’s. He grew up with the sounds of Liam Óg’s early morning tuning in the basement of Downing’s house, where his father was born and where Planxty made their first album. Miltown Malbay became the family home in the late 70’s. Willie Clancy, the bodhran and the penknife, teenage roadie for Moving Hearts, Abbey Actor, Borstal Boy in the Gaiety. Davóg left Ireland in the early 90’s, worked as a Stage Manager/Roadie for over twenty years – before returning to the roots of folk songs, poetry and theatre.
Davóg now lives in France with his family and is coming home to the ould sod more often, to play music and to make his first album.
He is supported on the night by regular visitors to The Cobblestone, from Athlone, with a powerful message in her songs Trish Nolan and from Offaly and London based Thomas McCarthy who is keeping the old songs of his family and the Travelling community alive.
Let the music keep yer spirits high. Hup!
