The Night Before Larry Got Stretched

The Night Before Larry Got Stretched is a traditional singing session run by a collective of young singers with an emphasis on encouraging singers of all ages to come together to share songs. This month’s special guest is Brían Mac Gloinn.

Brían Mac Gloinn is a singer and multi instrumentalist from Carlow. He has long standing family connections to traditional music through his grandfather, Barney Beg Gallagher, who was a singer from Aran Mór, Co. Donegal.
Brían cut his teeth busking on Carlow streets and also playing in bands such as The Brand New Switcheroo and Tommy Tea-Time and The Scrabble Beat Box Band.
In recent years he has received great acclaim at home and abroad, performing as one half of Ye Vagabonds, with his brother Diarmuid. As well as touring widely around Ireland and Europe, they have fostered a vibrant and welcoming music culture in Stoneybatter pubs and kitchens.
We’re delighted to have Brían as the guest singer. It promises to be a great night.
