Deirdre Hurley hails from Ballymote, Co. Sligo, and is one of a musical family. An accomplished flute player, she has in recent years also emerged as a singer. She has performed recently at the Sean-Nós Cois Life and Frank Harte festivals. Her influences are varied, and include singers from both the English and Irish traditions such as Dolores Keane, June Tabor and Seaosamh Ó hÉanaí.
