The Night Before Larry Got Stretched returns to The Cobblestone on Sunday the 7th of April.
This month we’re delighted to welcome Niamh Bury, from Dublin, and Joe Potter, from Norwich, as our guest singers.
Niamh and Joe have just recently moved back to Dublin after having lived in Norfolk for the last couple of years. It’s great to have them in Dublin again sharing their voices and songs so we decided to nab them as our guest singers for our April session!
As well as being fantastic singers, Niamh and Joe are also songwriters and musicians. As a duo, Of the Clay, they released an E.P. of traditional songs in 2018.
In recent times they have been exploring the English folk tradition, with a special focus on the songs of East Anglia and, for a time, while living in Norwich, they ran a monthly session called (Nor)folk.
FRoots magazine has described them as a “proper job folk duo”…with… “deft vocal, instrumental and arrangement skills”.
