Session info & etiquette

if you’re new to the “session” here’s a bit about what to expect…

  • a session is not a staged performance - it’s a social gathering of musicians to play, learn, and chat - pauses in the music are part of the charm

  • most importantly - quiet when the musicians are playing or singing (and don’t be offended if you hear a strong “Shhhhh!” from other patrons) - remember, there is plenty of room at the other end of the bar for talking!

  • the musicians area is reserved for musicians - please give them plenty of space to work their magic

  • if you see a musician without a seat offering up your seat is greatly appreciated

  • please no flash photography or video

  • every session is slightly different - each time slot is led by two or more musicians who set the tone and style of the session

  • if you are a visiting musician check in with the session lead if you want to play a tune or sing a song
